ScratchBuddy is an informational tool. It reads prize and sales data that state lotteries publish themselves, organises it, and presents grades and statistics for individual scratch-off games.
That is the whole of it. ScratchBuddy is not a lottery, not a lottery agent, not a courier, and not a licensed gambling operator of any kind. It does not sell tickets, does not help you buy them, does not accept or place wagers, does not hold funds, does not claim prizes on your behalf, does not access your lottery account, and runs no contests, sweepstakes, or giveaways. We take no money from any retailer or lottery.
Every number in ScratchBuddy is an estimate derived from public data, not a count of what is physically on a shelf.
State lotteries publish prize data on their own schedules and with their own methods. Numbers can be stale, revised, or wrong at the source. Even when they are perfectly accurate for a whole state, they say nothing about the particular roll of tickets in the particular store you are standing in. Two people acting on the same grade will get different outcomes, because scratch tickets are random.
Use ScratchBuddy as one input to your own judgement. Do not treat a grade as a prediction, a guarantee, or advice.
Scratch tickets are designed to pay out less than they take in. That is true of every game, in every state, at every price point, including every game ScratchBuddy grades well. A good grade means a game is offering relatively better value than the others next to it on the wall. It does not mean the game is a good investment, and ScratchBuddy is not a way to make money.

ScratchBuddy is for adults. By using it you confirm you are at least 18 years old, and that using it is lawful where you are.
ScratchBuddy is an independent product of ScratchBuddy LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by the Massachusetts State Lottery or any other state lottery, lottery commission, or lottery operator. Where game names, ticket designs, or other lottery materials appear, they belong to their respective owners and are shown only so you can recognise the game in front of you.
Please do not scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute ScratchBuddy's data or grades; reverse-engineer the app; attack or overload our infrastructure; use the app to break any law; or present ScratchBuddy's output as something it is not, such as official lottery information or a guarantee of winnings.
The app, its design, its grading methodology, and its compiled data are ours. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes. Everything else stays with us. The underlying facts published by state lotteries belong to no one and remain freely available from those states directly.
ScratchBuddy is currently a private beta. It will have bugs. Data will sometimes be missing, stale, or wrong. Features may change or disappear. We may end the beta, change who has access, or discontinue the product entirely, at any time and without notice.
ScratchBuddy is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that its data will be accurate or current.
To the fullest extent the law allows, ScratchBuddy LLC and its member will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost winnings, money spent on lottery tickets, or losses of any kind arising from your use of the app or your reliance on anything in it.
Our total liability to you for all claims, however arising, will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not permit some of these exclusions. Where that is so, they apply to the maximum extent permitted, and nothing here is intended to limit any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScratchBuddy LLC and its member from claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising out of your misuse of the app or your breach of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts sitting in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and you and we each consent to that jurisdiction.
We may revise these terms. When we do, we will change the revision date at the top of this page, and material changes will be signalled in the app. Continuing to use ScratchBuddy after a change means you accept the revised terms.
